Ranch Wedding

WPPI Award Winning Image- 2016

Today I bring to you the second half of this beautiful Ranch Wedding.  If you missed the first half of the day, be sure to check it out here.
This post is not only filled with pretty portraits, but also with a lot of emotion.  During speeches, Laura’s sisters delivered a heartfelt speech, as did Laura’s parents, and  Graeme’s dad spoke with his mom, then sang a lovely song that he used to sing to Graeme when he was a wee little one.  It was so sweet.

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look at this lovely Ranch Wedding.
I would like to send a little shout out to the Anderson’s for all of their wonderful hospitality and letting me stay on the Ranch.
To Laura and Graeme’s parents, you guys are wonderful people.  Just wonderful.
Laura & Graeme….
This day is all because of you two.  If it wasn’t for Katie (Laura’s sister) who knew a guy, this fine day wouldn’t have happened.  You both are beautiful souls and I can’t wait to visit again.

Ranch Wedding

ello Friends!

It’s been a long time.  Today I bring to you a beautiful Ranch Wedding that I was fortunate enough to photograph.   It takes place a real working ranch, somewhere west of me and North of the US. Laura found me via her sister, Katie.  We immediately had this crazy connection.  6 months later, I’m in the car (yes, we drove), with my great friend Tricia.   Tricia accepted my invitation for the 17 hour drive and help photograph this stellar wedding.  After all, who else would I want to ride in a confined space for that long.  Thank goodness she thinks I’m cool.

Pulling up to the ranch was an absolute dream.  Laura and Greame were warm and welcoming to us strangers.  I instantly felt like we were friends whom haven’t seen each other for a really, really long time.  I can’t wait to go back.  Ride some horses, check the cows and fences, play with George & Sig (Graeme and Laura’s two border collies), and spend some time with my friends.  Greame owns and works this land along with his Mom and Dad.  A family operation.  I love that.  Family.  The most important thing.

I’ve waited my entire career to be able to photograph a wedding like this.  Sometimes I think everything lines up for us in this great, big universe.  And we listen.  Needless to say, I need some more ranch weddings in my life.  Montana, Wyoming, Jackson Hole, Texas.  It doesn’t matter.  I’ll be glad to photograph your day for you.   Everything was perfect.  The air was filled with smoke from some wildfires in Washington creating this pretty amazing haze.  I know Saskatchewan is known for it’s amazing sunset’s , but this was dreamy.
Without anymore waiting and writing, I bring you the first half of this day.  Tomorrow, the second half.
Enjoy!

Elopements.
Oh how I love them.  Everything about them.  Small, intimate, and full of emotions.
And yes your Father indeed CAN walk you down to meet your love.

More on these two lovely courthouse elopements in the next few weeks.  You will NOT want to miss them.
Promise.
